Make sure your property is move in ready
If you rent out a property, it's your legal responsibility to ensure that the electrical systems and appliances in your property are safe for your tenants to use. At VPG Electrical, we can PAT test your appliances and carry out a full
electrical inspection, before issuing a Landlord Safety Certificate showing that everything's ready for your tenants to move in. Contact our team in Bristol to arrange an appointment.
Landlords are legally required to:
- Ensure the electrical installations in a rental property are safe and well maintained.
- A House in Multiple Occupation (HMO) has a periodic inspection carried out on the property every five years. Even if your property is not an HMO, you are legally obliged to do this. From 2021 you have to , by law, get a periodic inspection , landlords safety certificate, carried out by a registered electrician on your rental properties at least once every five years.
- Any appliance provided is safe and has at least the CE marking (which is the manufacturer’s claim that it meets all the requirements of European law).
